She sews, she reaps, she sleeps.
You are nearly 5 months old. You've been eating and sleeping and peeking out from a winter bundle. It's been a restless introduction. You came on the last day of an old year. You came ready for Spring, I see that now. The Spring that is breaking loose in pops of colour all around you. Your eyes are so awake to it all. There are some days now when we can go outside sockless. It's beautiful - the sight of your impossible toes in the sunlight. Your chubby legs bouncing on grass. Your little muscles practicing and practicing: a grasp, a kick, a smile.
Our first trip to the Trout Lake Farmer's Market. We buy fresh herbs, pork chops and a lettuce bucket. Your dad wears you so proud in the Baby Bjorn. There is music and a new smokie stand and too many dogs.
Finally, you decide you sleep is not the worst of this world. My mind perks up like a watered plant. I feeling like writing again.
